Sandra Hong, Counselor
Sandra will have her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Northwest University in the summer of 2018. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Washington, where she majored in Communications and minored in International Studies and Political Science. She enjoyed learning how to communicate effectively and build strong interpersonal relationships. Through her studies and her travels to the Middle East, Sandra started to see the world through a new lens and developed a passion to be a voice and safe haven for the oppressed.
Sandra's goals in counseling are to help people gain an understanding of themselves and the systems that impact them. She hopes that each person she works with will feel heard, validated, and empowered. Sandra has a particular heart for those struggling with anxiety, depression, and trauma.
In her free time, Sandra likes to journal and enjoy the nature. She plays guitar and piano to wind down, and she serves as a worship director for a church in Seattle. Her pets include an 18-lb cat named Simba, who she calls a mini panther because he is so big, and a border collie puppy that joined the family last Christmas and is full of energy and affection. She is excited to work at Eastside Academy this year.
