Josh Loy, MA LMHCA, Director of Counseling and Recovery

 Josh received his Master of Arts in Counseling from Western Seminary in Portland. Before this, he received undergraduate degrees in Youth Ministry and Bible from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. His training is focused on theology, the Bible, and counseling.

Josh has enjoyed a decade of active youth ministry experience, in paid and volunteer positions, within the local church.  For the past seven years, Josh has worked in various settings with adolescents, as a social worker, youth pastor, and counselor to at-risk and homeless youth on the Eastside. He is also the founder of New Ground Counseling, Bible-based, mental health counseling for teens, where he uses Biblical counseling to help youth struggling with addictions, cutting, depression, and more.

In his free time, Josh enjoys spending time with his wife Kindal, and their four children.  When he’s not hanging with his child posse, he enjoys writing/recording music, snowboarding, and watching college football.
